OnePlus Confirms ‘Always On Display’ As OxygenOS 11 Feature
OxygenOS is one of the cleanest and bloatware-free Android skins, and OnePlus takes massive pride in it. Now, the company is set to make it more user friendly with the introduction of OxygenOS 11 based on Android 11. OnePlus CEO Pete Lau has shared a video on Twitter indicating the arrival of Always On Display (AOD) as one of the features of OxygenOS 11.
The teaser video shows an analog clock with 11 “on Display” as the caption. It is a subtle hint that OxygenOS 11 will bring the feature.
OnePlus has integrated most of the Android 10 features in OxygenOS 10. However, it’s yet to bring the much appreciated and battery-friendly Always On Display feature to its devices. Earlier, OnePlus revealed that it will commence the testing of Always On Display feature in its smartphones from August onwards.
AOD brings convenience to users where they don’t have to turn on the screen to check notifications or time. Moreover, the tech is battery friendly as you don’t have to wake the device ever time you want to have a look at received notifications or check the time.
Android 11 R is almost ready and already available for a couple of devices. Going by the trend, we can expect OxygenOS 11 (based on Android 11) to release some time in September this year.
