OnePlus 8 series release date

Recently, OnePlus launched a campaign dubbed IDEAS that invited suggestions from the OnePlus community and other users for improving OxygenOS. Today, the company has confirmed the five features it is bringing to OxygenOS by taking cues from the ideas suggested by the users.

In a blog post, OnePlus said that it received 5,000 brilliant ideas and 25k likes on the ideas. The results of the beta phase of the campaign have ended with OnePlus adopting the following new OxygenOS features.

5 New OxygenOS Features

1. Always on Display

OnePlus already confirmed earlier that it is bringing the Always On Display (AOD) as one of the features of OxygenOS after several users requested. This new OxygenOS feature will be available by Aug/Sep as per OnePlus.

2. Enable fingerprint lock for hidden pictures in the gallery

This new OxygenOS feature will offer an additional layer of security if someone tries to open a hidden picture in the gallery. The idea received 594 likes on the OnePlus community platform.

3. Play sound when the battery is fully charged

As of now, there is no way to know when your OnePlus device has fully charged unless you have enabled the notification LED, which turns green when the smartphone is 100% charged. Now, OnePlus is bringing a new feature that will play a sound when the battery is fully charged.

4. Folders within the app drawer

OnePlus will offer a feature in OxygenOS that will allow you to group apps in a folder within the app drawer. This will make it easier to access apps as you can group them according to their nature or as per your usage.
