Engine (Diesel)
As I said above, both cars belong to the same category and are perfect rivals. Therefore, as seen above in the petrol variant and the diesel variant, the figures remain the same.
The 1.2L U2 CRDi engine powers Hyundai i10 Nios, whereas the 1.3L DDiS engine powers Maruti Swift. Although there is a slight variation in displacement, both the engines could make 74Hp and a peak torque of 190Nm. However, only Hyundai provides a BS6 compliant diesel engine.

Looking at the specifications, even the experts will find it challenging to pick one when it comes to Hyundai i10 Nios Vs. Maruti Swift. However, there are more options for Hyundai i10 Nios considering the new Turbo and CNG variant of the car. And with the new design improvements in i10 Nios, it has a competitive edge.
Overall I would say that for now, it looks like i10 Nios has a better chance to thrive in the market.
