Xiaomi Launches Mi Mix 3 With Sliding Camera, 10GB RAM, & No Notch
Earlier this week, Xiaomi announced the Black Shark Helo gaming phone and now its back with another flagship smartphone — Mi Mix 3 that was just launched in an event in Beijing.
Over the past several weeks, Xiaomi gave us a glimpse of various key features of the new Mi Mix 3 including its bezel-less design, slider mechanism that holds a dual front camera and 10GB RAM. Now the phone has been launched officially for the Chinese market and expected to hit other countries soon enough.
Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 specifications
Let’s talk about the main features of the Mi Mix 3:
Display: This device sports a 6.3″ FHD+ (1080×2340 pixels) AMOLED display. Xiaomi says it has a 93.4% screen-to-body ratio and a 19.5:9 aspect ratio. A truly bezel-less display that has no notch (thankfully!) is a significant upgrade over its predecessors in terms of design.
Processor: The Mi Mix 3 packs an octa-core Snapdragon 845 processor under the hood.
RAM: There are three RAM options – 6GB, 8GB, and 10GB
Storage: The 6GB variant comes with 128GB of internal storage whereas the 8GB version offers 128GB and 256GB of internal storage. There is another special edition with 10GB RAM that comes with 256GB of internal storage.
Rear camera: Mi Mix 3 has dual cameras at the back. The primary 12MP wide-angle lenses have Sony IMX363 sensor with f/1,8 aperture and OIS.
The 12MP secondary lenses have a telephoto sensor that comes with a f/2.4 aperture. Both the cameras support dual-LED flash and PDAF.
There is also a Night Mode feature for taking long exposure shots, AI-based scene recognition and support for slow-motion video recording at 960fps.
Front camera: The slider holds a dual front camera that has 24MP primary Sony IMX576 sensor along with a 2MP secondary sensor for depth sensing. To use the front cameras, you will have to pull down the front panel.
Other features: Mi Mix 3 is one of the first smartphones to support 5G connectivity. However, this feature is not useful for the majority of consumers as several countries are yet to implement the 5G mobile networks.

The base model (6GB + 128GB) is priced at CNY 3,299 ($475). The second variant (8GB + 128GB) is priced at CNY 3,599 ($575) and the 8GB + 256GB variant costs CNY 3,999.
