Windows 10 Reaches 500 Million Active Users, Satya Nadella Announces

Windows 10 500 Million
On the first day of Microsoft’s Build 2017 developer conference, CEO Satya Nadella announced the numbers for Windows 10 and related products.

Nadella told the audience that Windows 10 has now reached a count of 500 million monthly active users. These numbers are accompanied by 100 million monthly Office 365 users and 140 million monthly users of their Cortana digital assistant.

It has been more than seven months since the company reached 400 million active users in September last year. Also, there are around 300 million users operating Windows 10 for 3.5 hours daily, Microsoft noted at the Education event last week where they launched Windows 10 S and Surface Laptop.

In spite of their enormous user base, Redmond is still behind the goal of 1 billion monthly active users which they want to achieve by mid-2018. Making it to a billion people won’t be easy as it took them 21 months to reach 500 million users.
