Call Of Duty: Warzone To Get 200-Player Matches With 5-Player Squads
The free-to-play battle royale game, Call of Duty: Warzone is already out for PS4, Xbox One, and PC. With 150-player matches, Warzone is already going bigger than other battle royale games. However, Infinity Ward is planning to take it even further by introducing 200-player matches in the game.
Patrick Kelly, the co-head of Infinity Ward, confirmed to USA Today that they are testing 200-person games, which they are going to release a “little bit later.”Â
To be honest, we are still trying to get comfortable with 150-player matches. However, adding another 50 to that number will surely make the battle more interesting.
Also, with more players in the game, it’s sensible to go with bigger squads. Well, that’s what the developers of the game are planning to do.
According to Kelly, they are already playing with four-player and even five-player squads. However, the studio is not going to release anything that doesn’t work well with the game. So, they are testing the game with different team sizes and then analyzing the gameplay to land on a decision.
“I can tell you we have four-and five-player squads we are already playing with. But we want to launch with something we know works really well, and we have tested to the nines and then play around with these different team sizes,” said Patrick Kelly.
It’s pretty clear that by planning for 200-player matches in Call of Duty: Warzone, Activision is all set to stand tall against other popular battle royale games like Fortnite and Apex Legends.Â
