Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3: Release Date, Specs, and Price
After numerous leaks and insider info, it seems that Samsung will unveil Galaxy Z Flip 3, Galaxy Z Fold 3, and Galaxy S21 Fan Edition at the next Galaxy Unpacked event. Multiple sources, including reliable tipsters Ice Universe and Max Jambor, have confirmed that the event will be held on August 11. Over the course of the month, many leaks have also seemingly confirmed the specs for Galaxy Z Fold 3. The majority of the information comes through the leaked renders of the new phone.
Galaxy Z Fold 3 Release Date
According to tipster Jon Prosser, the Galaxy Z Fold 3 is likely to release on August 27 for the U.S. and U.K. The speculated release date for the smartphone in India is around early September. However, it wouldn’t be surprising to see that date being pushed back to October due to the worldwide semiconductor shortage.
Galaxy Z Fold 3 Specifications and Features
Despite Samsung not announcing the new phone officially, the specs for the smartphone have popped up on Geekbench. The smartphone is running on Android 11 and powered by the Snapdragon 888 SoC. It will likely come with 8GB/12GB of RAM with expected storage of 256GB/512GB based on the variant. The Galaxy Z Fold 3 will feature a 6.23-inch Super AMOLED Infinity-O cover display and a 7.55-inch internal Super AMOLED foldable display.
It comes with S-pen support and will be the first Samsung device with an under-display selfie camera. This Under Panel Camera (UPC) will be a great replacement for the common ‘Punch Hole’ design. In total, it comes with five cameras. Firstly, a 12MP+12MP+12MP triple-camera setup on the rear, a 16 MP under-display selfie camera, and a 10MP selfie camera on the cover display.
The smartphone is expected to be powered by two separate batteries with a combined capacity of 4,275mAh. It supports 25W fast charging, wireless charging, and reverse wireless charging. Although the battery capacity is smaller than Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2, it will be slightly thinner and lighter. There is a chance that Samsung can market the battery size as 4,300mAh.
Price
According to several leaks, It seems the expected price for Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 is around $1249 (roughly Rs. 92,800). Making it $200 cheaper than the Galaxy Fold 2. This is because Samsung has decided to cut down the price by 20% to make foldable smartphones more affordable. Some reports even suggest that there’s also a Samsung Galaxy Fold 3 Lite version, which could be something to look forward to.
