iOS 11.4 Launched By Apple; Brings iMessages in Cloud and Airplay 2
With the unveiling of iOS 12 scheduled for next week, Apple has launched the final version of iOS 11 in the form of iOS 11.4. It brings bug fixes along with the two features that were announced in WWDC 2017, which were not rolled out yet.
Access your iMessages Across Devices Now
In an official blog post on Tuesday, Apple released iOS 11.4 with the facility of messages on iCloud. With this much-demanded feature, your iMessages will be synced on iCloud so that you can access it from your iPhone, MacBook, and iPad. On deleting the message from one device, it will be automatically deleted across devices. Moreover, the feature is special because it will allow users to delete messages from their phone’s storage.
AirPlay 2 with Multi-room Audio
The new AirPlay 2, Apple’s audio streaming proprietary, brings support to multi-room audio. Now, you will be able to sync music playback on different AirPlay compatible devices installed in your home. The multi-room support will allow you to play same audio on all the speakers. You will also have the option of controlling the audio volume of a single room. Moreover, Apple has announced that they will add more brands of speakers to the list of speakers compatible with AirPlay 2.
Pair Two HomePod Devices
HomePod owners can now pair two HomePod devices in the same room to use them as stereo speakers. From June 18, HomePod will also be available in Germany, France, and Canada.
In addition to this, iOS 11.4 has also added the support for ClassKit Framework, thus inviting developers to develop educational apps for iPhones and iPads that are compatible with Apple’s Schoolwork app.
You can update to iOS 11.4 by going to ‘Settings’ then ‘General’ and by clicking on ‘Software Update’ option. Some minor bugfixes are also included in the update to make the overall experience smooth for iPhone and iPad users.
