At the ongoing Auto Expo 2020, Mahindra has unveiled the electric variant of one of its most popular SUV – Mahindra XUV300. It is the first electric SUV by Mahindra after it launched eVerito in 2018.

Mahindra eXUV300 electric was announced by the company in 2019 and the electric car has been showcased the event. Let’s talk about why this car could be the Indian Tesla Model X.

When compared to the hugely popular ICE variant, XUV300 electric features a refreshed design for the front grille and headlamps. The electric sub-four meter SUV could be available in standard and long-range variants once it is launched in 2021.Mahindra XUV300 electric

The interior of the eXUV300 is strikingly similar to the ICE variant except for a large touch screen on the dashboard which has become a trend these days.

XUV300 electric will feature a liquid-cooled battery specially designed for extreme conditions. The company hasn’t unveiled the exact battery power, range, and other specifications as of now.

But we can expect the eXUV300 to be launched at a similar price range as Tata Nexon, MG ZS EV, and Hyundai Kona Electric. To give you an idea of the expected driving range, Tata Nexon could run up to 300 Km on a single charge according to ARAI certification.

Mahindra mentioned at the Auto Expo that XUV300 electric will be launched with “next generation of connectivity features delivering comfort and convenience at your fingertips”.

One of the reasons, why we can say that Mahindra eXUV300 could be the Indian Tesla Model X, is safety. Recently, the internal combustion engine variant of XUV300 was awarded a 5-star rating by GNCAP and the electric variant could follow its footsteps.

The expected price of Mahindra XUV300 electric lies in the range between 15-18 lakhs.
