Canonical is Organizing India’s First Ever Ubuntu Hackathon

At the Ubuntu Hackathon, Canonical will be giving away great prizes to the winners. If you are great at developing new things, you might just win the Ubuntu Dell laptop and BQ Aquaris E5 HD Ubuntu Edition.
Canonical has announced the next Ubuntu Hackathon to be held next week in Bangalore between October 15-16, 2015.

Canonical writes in its post that Bangalore is a developer hub, so it’ll be great to meet all the talented developers from all over the India and watch them hack the latest operating system coming to the Indian market.
At the hackathon, there will be four award categories:
- Most innovative Award – most exciting projects
- Best Group Award – best team demo/presentation
- Best Rookie Award – fairly new to the development world, quick learner of Ubuntu
- IoT special prize – brings an IoT/snappy core element into their project
The winners of the Most innovative Award will get a 20,000 (INR) Snapdeal voucher + Ubuntu Dell laptop* + Aquaris E5 HD Ubuntu Edition smartphone. The second category winners will get an Aquaris E5 HD Ubuntu Edition smartphone (per person in group, max. up to x5) + x3 passes to Mobile World Congress 2016.
The winners of the Best Rookie award will get an Aquaris E5 HD Ubuntu Edition + one Bluetooth Vivaldi speakers. Winners of the last category will get a cool collectors item Ubuntu Matchbox – Raspberry Pi 2.
