Brace Yourself! Swing Copters, The Flappy Bird Successor is Coming
The Flappy Bird creator Dong Nguyen is going to release his new game later this week. The trailer for his new game Swing Copters has been released. The trailer suggests that it is very much possible that you would see another frustrating yet addictive gem in your devices very soon.
This follow up to Flappy Bird looks very similar to its predecessor. In this game you are going to get a small fellow with fans (helicopter) attached to its head. Your job would be to navigate it while climbing up in the sky and you get swinging hammers as obstacles.
Flappy Bird had the bird moving horizontally but Swing Copters is a vertically scrolling game and you are needed to tap on the screen to avoid collision.
TouchArcade is the mobile games site who got the exclusive news and trailer of the game. Its editor-in-chief Eli Hodapp is going to be more “brutally difficult” and addictive.
According to the report, Swing Copters will be released on 21 August as a free download on iOS and Android, and people will be able to enjoy an advertisement free version after paying $0.99.
Earlier this year Flappy Bird became viral with more than 50m downloads. After taking down the game from App Store Nguyen tweeted, “I am sorry ‘Flappy Bird’ users, 22 hours from now, I will take ‘Flappy Bird’ down. I cannot take this anymore. It is not anything related to legal issues. I just cannot keep it anymore. I also don’t sell ‘Flappy Bird’, please don’t ask. And I still make games.”
Later he said that whatever happened was magic and unexpected. It is expected that his return later this week will surely cause some stir in app store.
