Well, one of the biggest iPhone features of 2020 is the 5G Ultra Wide Band (UWB) that pumps download speeds of several gigabits per second without any wires. It also provides super-low latency, which is beneficial for video conferencing and online gaming.

Apple has added new MagSafe charging tech to the iPhone 12 Pro and Pro Max, where compatible accessories, including wireless chargers, can attach to the iPhone’s back and make the experience smoother.

The latest iPhone Pro models also add a much-awaited LiDAR scanner to the camera setup that improves auto-focus and depth-sensing in low light and helps the device with Augmented Reality workloads.

This year’s iPhone 12 Pro and Pro Max come with an updated OLED display and a new Ceramic Shield to protect the display from breaking. Apple says the new ceramic shield protection is even stronger than what we get on last year’s iPhone 11 and delivers up to 4 times better drop performance.

The specs worth mentioning in the camera department are the Smart HDR 3, Apple ProRAW, updated Night Mode, Dolby Vision HDR recording at 4K60, and Night Mode Timelapse.

Another USP of the 2020 iPhone models is that the new A14 SoC that powers the devices is based on a 5nm process. It comes with over 50% faster CPU and GPU than any other smartphone, Apple claims. Apple A14 Bionic also has a 16-core Neural Engine and around 70% faster machine learning accelerators.

The iPhone 12 Pro will be up for pre-orders from October 16 and start shipping on October 23. On the other hand, the iPhone 12 Pro Max will be available for pre-orders from November 6 and start shipping on November 13.
