This Man Is Paying Whopping $3.3 Million For Lunch With Warren Buffett
An anonymous fan bid the massive amount of $3.3 million for a chance to dine with the famous multi-billionaire investor Warren Buffett.
The annual charity auction on eBay was organized for the 19th consecutive year. Entire amount from the auction will be donated to Glide, a San Fransisco based anti-poverty charity organization.
The auction came to a close on Friday with the winning bid amounting to $3.3 million which is a few grand shy of the record $3.46 million bid in the history of the event.
With the amount, Glide will provide approximately 750,000 free meals, HIV medication, Hepatitis C tests and job training to poor.
Warren Buffett, chairman, and CEO of Berkshire Hathaway has been regarded as one of the most successful investors of all time. Also known as ‘Oracle of Omaha,’ Buffett is famous for his charities and his pledge to give away 99% of his total wealth to Philanthropist causes.
Warren Buffett has helped the organization over the years by actively participating in charity lunches. According to an estimate, auctions organized to offer a chance to dine with Buffett has amassed a total of $26 million till date.
In the 5-day auction, bid started at $25,000 and soared at $2.9 million by midweek. The winner, who wishes to remain anonymous like many other previous winners, is allowed to bring his/her seven friends to the lunch with Warren Buffett at Smith & Wollensky Steakhouse at New York City.
The winner, while savoring expensive and delectable dishes such as Colorado Rib Steak and Cut Sirloin, can converse with Warren about any topic except expecting an answer to “What’s your next investment?”
