For the users who are always obsessed with a darker UI, the YouTube dark mode or dark theme has arrived for its Android app. According to 9to5Google, the feature is currently rolling out to a limited number of users.

YouTube first released the dark mode on its website back in 2017. And earlier in 2018, it arrived on iOS devices as well. Over the course of this year, YouTube has released several other useful features including the incognito mode and break reminder.

One of the big reasons why people prefer the dark mode is it doesn’t hurt the eyes when watching YouTube before going to bed.

Some people also believe that black or darker interfaces save battery, but the fact isn’t entirely accurate. It happens on devices with AMOLED displays.

How to enable YouTube dark mode on Android?

For Android, YouTube will automatically turn on the dark mode and display a pop-up notification about the same.

If available, the feature can also be turned on or off manually. Tap on the profile picture in the top-right corner. Go to Settings > General. Under the Remind me to take a break option, you’ll find the toggle button for the dark theme.
