Samsung Galaxy S10 Comes With A Built-In Cryptocurrency Wallet
As speculated, Samsung Galaxy S10 is the first major smartphone to feature a built-in cryptocurrency wallet where users can store bitcoin, Etherium and Cosmo Coin in the wallet.
S10 comes with a cold storage wallet which is not connected to the internet and the cryptocurrency is stored locally in the smartphone. In addition to cryptocurrency wallet, the latest flagship from Samsung also supports selected decentralized apps or “Dapps.”
One of the major Dapps that is currently available in S10 is Cosmee using which users can earn Cosmo Coin in exchange for leaving reviews for the beauty app.
For the uninitiated, Cosmee is a South Korean startup that runs a blockchain based beauty review app. The power of blockchain is harnessed for recording the reliability of reviews left by the users.
Samsung has also announced that the S10’s cryptocurrency wallet will also support Enjin Coin which is an Etherium based cryptocurrency meant for gamers. Additionally, the device will also support contactless cryptocurrency payments.
Earlier, HTC also launched Exodus which features digital token storage that is separated from the rest of the phone storage for enhanced security. HTC Exodus is available for pre-order and can only be purchased using cryptocurrency.
Samsung’s move could be a trendsetter, and we can expect other smartphone manufacturers to launch devices with built-in cryptocurrency wallets in future.
