Therefore, it’s no surprise that Redmi fans are desperate to witness the next version of it, the Redmi K30, slated for 2020.

Redmi K30 with 120HZ Display and Sony 60MP IMX686
An XDA developer has found new developments in the MIUI code denoting many new features coming in the Redmi K30. The developer discovered code snippets with respect to a device codenamed “Phoenix” which could possibly the Redmi K30.
The developer found code snippets for a high refresh rate, a side fingerprint sensor and using the Sony IMX686 sensor. Previously, there have been rumors of Redmi K30 having a 120hz refresh rate, the new leak further confirms the rumor.
Earlier this month, Sony posted a teaser of the Sony IMX686 at Weibo. Now, the developer found a string “phoenix_imx686” which could likely mean Redmi K30 to be the first smartphone to feature the Sony IMX686 sensor.

Redmi K30 With LCD Screen and Side Fingerprint Sensor
Last month, Lu Weibing, VP of Xiaomi Group confirmed the Redmi K20 will feature a dual punch-hole display, much like the Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus.
However, the smartphone will feature an LCD screen, unlike the S10 Plus, according to the latest leak. The leak also indicates the Redmi K30 will include a Side fingerprint sensor.
The Redmi K20 features an in-display fingerprint sensor along with an AMOLED display. The latest leak could only mean that Xiaomi might introduce a lower-budget variant of Redmi K30, other than Redmi K30 and Redmi K30 Pro.
Redmi K30 Spotted on a subway
Last week, a mysterious smartphone was spotted on a subway. While people failed to decipher the brand, some suggest that the device was running MIUI OS, leading to the possibility of alleged Xiaomi Redmi K30.
The belief is based on the bezel-less design of the alleged Xiaomi smartphone, which only a flagship would carry.
Other Redmi K30 Specifications
While confirming the dual punch-hole display, Lu Weibing also told last month that the Redmi device would come with dual 5G standby support.
In other words, Redmi K30 will work with standalone mode as well as non-standalone networking, allowing the device to work use LTE for numerous operations.
Speaking of the processor, rumors are that the Redmi K30 will run on Qualcomm Snapdragon 7250.
Redmi K30 Release Date
A few days ago, Lu Weibing announced the Redmi K30 is scheduled to release in 2020. Unfortunately, Lu refrained from revealing the exact release date.
However, Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun, Xiaomi Developers Conference, today confirmed that Redmi K30 will release in December this year.
Since the release date is different from the previous announcement, it could mean that the device would launch in December, however, the Chinese tech giant will not start selling before 2020.
