Poco M2 Pro Specs, Poco F2 Pro release date

Poco F2 Pro, the flagship killer that was launched last month globally, has finally received its first MIUI 12 Global Stable update. This comes after a European version of the MIUI 12 update was launched a few days back.

The update was long overdue as the likes of Redmi K20/Redmi K20 Pro started receiving the first MIUI 12 update way back in May. Interestingly, Poco F2 Pro was not listed in the first batch of MIUI 12 supported devices to receive the update, despite having flagship specs. Not to mention, the device is actually a rebranded version of Redmi K30 Pro.

Nevertheless, the good news is Poco F2 Pro has finally received the MIUI 12 Stable update (MIUI 12 V12.0.1.0 QJKIDXM), although it will take some time before the OTA (Over-the-air) update arrives on your smartphone.

As we have observed with other devices, Xiaomi is very careful with the MIUI 12 update roll-out. The approach is to roll-out the stable update to random device users, wait for any performance issues or small bugs to appear, fix them, and then follow a staged roll-out.

Xiaomi follows a similar process MIUI 12 Beta updates. In fact, the MIUI 12 update for POCO F2 Pro could be another beta update. However, since the device was never part of the MIUI 12 Pilot program, we cannot say for sure. It’s difficult to tell since we don’t have the device with us. Even if we had POCO F2 Pro, there is no guarantee we’d receive the update over the air.

Poco F2 Pro is part of 23 Xiaomi devices that the Chinese tech giant recently promised to issue the MIUI 12 Stable update starting August.

Poco F2 Pro was launched just a few days before the MIUI 12 Global launch. The device is the successor to Poco F1 and comes with high-end specs, including a Snapdragon 865 SoC, a quad-camera setup with a 64 MP primary lens, a 6.67-inch FHD+ AMOLED display, a 4,700 mAh battery and 5G support.

We will update the article once we get our hands on the update’s OTA file and/or Recovery ROM file. Let us know if you have received an OTA update on your Poco F2 Pro in the comments section below.
