Xiaomi Unveils Mi Mix 3 5G Starting From $680 #MWC 2019
In its MWC 2019 product launch event titled “We Make It Happen,” Xiaomi has unveiled Mi Mix 3 5G, its first 5G smartphone. Mi Mix 3 was first announced in October 2018, and now the Chinese smartphone maker company has launched its 5G version. It is also the first smartphone from Xiaomi to feature a slider camera.
Unlike the 4G variant, Mi Mix 3 5G comes with Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 chipset and Snapdragon X50 5G modem inside the hood to enable the 5G network. SD 855 is the world’s first commercial 5G mobile platform. To demonstrate 5G, Xiaomi’s Donovan Sung, director of product management, initiated a live 5G video call using the device.
Mi Mix 3 5G features a 6.39-inches AMOLED display with 93.4% screen-to-body ratio and a ceramic back. To access the front camera, a magnetic slider is provided. Inside the slider, 24MP + 2MP dual camera system has been fitted and on the rear side, Mi Mix 3 5G has 12MP + 12MP dual camera setup.
To power the device, Xiaomi has provided a 3800mAH battery that supports Quick Charge 4+. Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 5G has been priced at €590 or $680. No date has been announced for the launch, but the company has said that it will be available in the European market sometime around May this year.
In addition to Mi Mix 3 5G, Xiaomi also announced the global launch of its flagship Mi 9 which is the company’s first triple camera smartphone. It has been priced at €449 which roughly translates to $510.
