Short Bytes: The famous Arch-based distro Manjaro Linux has refreshed itself with the latest stable rolling release, Manjaro 17.0 Gellivara. Available in KDE and Xfce editions, Manjaro 17.0 features Linux Kernel 4.9 LTS, Xorg v1.19 series, various new and update themes and changes to the Manjaro Settings Manager.

The stock kernel on the latest Manjaro 17.0 release has been updated to Linux Kernel 4.9 LTS. One can choose between Manjaro’s variety of kernel options — using the updated Manjaro Settings Manager — which now include kernel 4.10. Also, the automatic hardware detection MHWD has been updated to take extra care of the libglx library.
Manjaro 17.0 Xfce edition now comes with version 4.12 of the lightweight Xfce desktop environment and features the Maia theme which debuted with the Fringilla release. The KDE edition — with the default Vertex-Maia theme — comes the Plasma 5.9 desktop with KDE Apps 16.12.3, and KDE Framework 5.31. Both KDE and Xfce editions of Manjaro 17.0 Gellivara feature an updated Xorg stack v1.19 along with various updated and new themes.
