Apple is preparing to launch the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro in late 2024, with component production beginning soon. Expected improvements include larger screens, longer battery life, and brighter OLED displays. Additionally, the iPhone 16 Pro Max may transition from aluminum to stainless steel, with rumors suggesting a wider range of color options.

The iPhone 16 series is expected to come in two sizes, with a redesigned camera block, an Action button, and a Capture button. Cameras may feature spatial video support, and AI enhancements could include generative AI in apps like Photos and Notes. Other specs might include an A18 or A17 Pro chip, 8GB RAM, 256GB default storage, and Wi-Fi 6E support. The standard model may boast a larger battery, and it will run on iOS 18.

Similar to the iPhone 15, these models are expected to feature a colored back glass with a frosted effect, adding a unique touch that matches the frame color. The iPhone 16 models could be available in seven colors: blue, pink, yellow, green, black, white, and purple. This news originates from the tweet by Ming-Chi Kuo.

Apple plans to increase the iPhone 16 Pro to 6.3 inches and the iPhone 16 Pro Max to 6.9 inches. Only the Pro models will get size changes; the iPhone 16 will stay the same size as the iPhone 15. Though the standard iPhone 16 models won’t grow in size, they will have some minor design adjustments, including additional buttons. Overall, both the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro models will look similar to the iPhone 15 and 15 Pro.

The Action Button on the iPhone 16 models will resemble the one found on the iPhone 15 Pro. This button, replacing the mute switch, serves multiple functions like activating the flashlight, camera, shortcuts, focus mode, translate, silent mode, and more.

Assuming Apple sticks to its usual timeline, we can expect the iPhone 16 series to debut in September 2024.
