In its October event, Apple showcased its nearly bezel-less iPad Pro which brings a revamped design and comes fitted with an all-powerful A12X chipset. However, many customers who purchased the 2018 iPad found that it bent slightly without any abnormal stress.

JerryRigEverything, a famous YouTuber, also conducted a bend test and confirmed that iPad Pro 2018 is prone to bending issues. Now, Apple has confirmed to The Verge that some iPad Pros are shipping with a very slight bend in the aluminum chassis and it’s not a defect.

The Cupertino giant said that the bending is caused due to the device’s manufacturing process and it shouldn’t affect the performance of the device in normal circumstances. A slight bend in the body is a result of a cooling process related to iPad Pro’s metal and plastic components during the manufacturing process. Apple has said that slight bending could be found in both 11-inches  and 12.9-inches models.

According to The Verge, consumers who are facing bending in their iPad Pro 2018 “shouldn’t have any trouble exchanging or returning” the device at an Apple Store. However, Apple’s policies say it won’t replace the devices that are facing issues that aren’t covered under manufacturing devices.

Bending in iPad Pro 2018 could be annoying due to wobbling when placed on an even surface.
