Short Bytes: To address your privacy concerns, Silent Circle has tried to create the super-secure Android phone and its newest model Blackphone 2 is now available.

Google is continuously bashed for its shady security measures in the Android OS. Recently discovered Stagefright bug exposed millions of devices and it prompted the Android maker to release monthly security updates. Other small hacks and flaws are also detected from time to time.

There is an option to encrypt your data on your Android phone, but that makes your phone so slow that it’s literally unusable. So, to address your privacy concerns, Silent Circle has tried to create the super-secure Android phone and its newest model Blackphone 2 is now available.

The Blackphone 2 uses a special mobile operating system that is made to protect your secrets. The phone tries to challenge all the other Android devices by making itself encrypted. Most of the vulnerabilities could be attributed to one single reason: faulty app permission. Blackphone 2 tries to fix this.

Instead of giving you an option to accept or decline app requests for accessing your personal data, Blackphone 2 lets you choose the permission you want to allow.

The other personalized privacy feature include the Silent Circle’s PrivateOS 1.1 that boasts of a compartmentalized user interface. This divides the phone into two parts: your work stuff and your private life on the phone. You get the ability to log into your “Enterprise” and “Personal” accounts and take care of them separate passwords.

You can lock everything down- ranging from email to picture- using different methods like pattern, PIN or a password. You can even randomize the PIN pad, that means no malware can collect your keystrokes and learn your PIN.

The Smarter WiFi service in the phone ensures that your phone’s WiFi doesn’t rat you out. Added to this, the encrypted calls and texts run over the Silent Circle’s protected infrastructure.

Blackphone 2 has decent hardware specifications with a 5.5-inch screen and a 13MP camera. However, the price you have to pay is $800 and it seems that privacy has a very high price in present times.
