top-android-anti-virusShort Bytes: Here is a list of 25 best android Antivirus that were put on test by AVTest, a company specialized in cyber-security benchmarking. 25 Android security apps were put on the test for six months and here are the results for the best Android antivirus.

AVTest put 25 security apps on test for six months for their security capabilities. However, these apps were not only rated based on their protection capabilities, but also on their usability, extra features, battery drain, bandwidth usage etc.

Out of the 25 apps, four apps get a perfect score of cent percent for mobile protection. To test the security capabilities of these apps, over 20,000 malware specimens were introduced into 25 identical Android Lollipop 5.1.1 devices and each device running a different cyber-security app.

The four protection apps which scored a perfect 100% are Bitdefender, ESET, Qihoo 360 and Sophos. Overall results were also good. Out of all the 25 Android protection apps, none of them went under 95% detection rates in both real-time and reference set tests.

In the second suite of tests, apps were also ranked based on their other features, like the overall battery drainage percentage, CPU load, bandwidth usage, the number of false positive alerts, anti-theft functions, safe mobile payments, app locking or system optimization tools etc. 13 out of the 25 security apps scored cent percent in terms of detection rate reference set.
