It seems like Apple is competing with Samsung but not in terms of phones but exploding batteries.
As reported by iCulture, an iPad battery almost exploded at Apple’s Amsterdam Store and injured three employees due to harmful fumes released into the air. This is one of a kind incident as we haven’t heard any news of an explosion in iPad’s battery in the past. However, there have been several similar incidents involving iPhones.
The battery, in this case, did not explode but started emitting fumes. The injured employees who were facing breathing issues were checked on by ambulance fire respondents. The affected iPad was put in a sandbox as a precautionary measure, and the store was evacuated to prevent any mishap.
It’s not clear at the moment whether it was one of the iPads that were brought in for repairs or a new iPad.
The increasing number of cases of exploding batteries in iPhones is a looming concern for Apple; now with iPad also involved, it is a challenge for Apple to curb such issues.
Do you think this incident will mark a dent in Apple’s credibility?
