Apple AirPods Lose To Samsung Galaxy Buds In Sound Quality Test: Consumer Reports
Consumer Reports, a non-profit organization dedicated to unbiased reviews of consumer products, has recently published a comparison between Apple AirPods and Samsung Galaxy Buds. Testing the two wireless earbuds on the basis of ‘Sound Quality,’ it was concluded that Galaxy Buds are better than Apple AirPods.
Consumer Reports found that AirPods deliver solid thump but lack depth. AirPods only deliver the bass that one gets from low percussive sounds and there is an issue with midrange as well.
The report reads, “Passages with a lot of instruments blur together for a congested feel, making it more difficult to pick out individual sounds.”
Praising the Galaxy Buds, the report mentions that it has the depth that is found lacking in the AirPods and mids and highs are also significantly better.
In the design and fit department, Consumer Reports leaves it onto users to choose the best design as per their preference. While some like the looser design of AirPods, others prefer the in-ear design of the Galaxy Buds.
The organization also highlights the integration between AirPods and Apple devices via Apple’s custom-made H1 chip. However, the usability of tap controls is an issue with the AirPods, as per the report. On the other hand, Galaxy Buds impressed with modern features like USB-C and wireless charging compatibility.
Overall, Galaxy Buds are the clear winner with a score of 86; AirPods managed to score just 56. You can read the report here.
