OnePlus 7/7Pro Latest To Get Android 10 ‘Stable’ Version
Believe it or not, but this time with the release of Android 10, many non-Google device owners won’t have to wait for 500 years to get the update installed.
OnePlus recently released two OxygenOS-based Android 10 beta builds. But now the company has started rolling out the stable Android 10 for the OnePlus 7 and OnePlus 7 Pro, as announced in a forum post.
As per the changelog, the OnePlus 7 and 7 Pro will now have the Android 10-style gesture navigation where you can swipe inwards from both edges to go back, and swipe along the bottom edge to switch between apps.
A new Smart Display feature puts more information based on location and events on the OnePlus 7’s Ambient Display. OnePlus has also added the Game Space which puts all the installed games in one place for easy access.
On top of that are a redesigned user interface, the ability to change shapes for quick action icons, and Android 10’s new location permissions.
You can get Android 10 on your OnePlus 7 and OnePlus 7 Pro via the OTA update. However, there is a catch.
OnePlus says it’s a staged rollout and the update will be first released to a limited number of users. If no critical bugs are found, the update will be pushed to all OnePlus 7 users.
If you’re wondering about the older OnePlus boys, then please be informed that the Android 10 release for OnePlus 6/6T and OnePlus 5/5T are also in the pipeline. The company said it will reveal more about its Android 10 road map at the upcoming global launch event in London, where it will unveil the new OnePlus 7T and 7T Pro.
