Samsung Alpha, Finally a Samsung Phone with Metal Frame
Samsung today announced a new phone and it seems that lagging behind HTC, iPhone and surprisingly Nokia phones in terms of appealing design has forced Samsung to drop the plastic chassis and to include a metallic frame in new Samsung Alpha. The phones is just 7mm thin which makes it thinner than iPhone 5S. However it doesn’t feature a full metal casing, it offers a metal frame, curved edges, and a dimpled and soft rubber-plastic back, weighing just 115 grams.
Alpha will arrive with Android KitKAt (4.4.4) rather than the upcoming Android L. It’ll feature Samsung’s own UI pinches and will have S Health, Ultra-Power Saving mode, Finger Print Scanner and Private mode.
Pricing is yet not announced, Samsung told that it should be available from the beginning of September. The available colors for Alpha will be Charcoal Black, Dazzling White, Frosted Gold, Sleek Silver and Scuba Blue.
Other key specs include:
- 4.7 inch screen (1280×720 pixels)
- An Octa Core processor (two 1.8 Ghz and 1.5 Ghz Quad Core)
- 12 megapixel primary camera
- 32 GB internal storage (non-expandable)
