New Nvidia App: Everything Know About The New GPU Companion App
While Nvidia’s GPUs are top-of-the-line, its software for managing the performance of its cards has often left much to be desired. Now, to address this issue, Nvidia is merging its Control Panel and GeForce Experience apps into a new, unified Nvidia app. Here’s everything you need to know about it.
Capabilities and features
As mentioned earlier, the new Nvidia app combines the capabilities of both its predecessors. It introduces a unified GPU control center, merging game settings from GeForce Experience with the separate game controls from Nvidia’s Control Panel app. As a result, users can not only apply game and driver settings in one location but can also create a global profile for all their games and applications.
Additionally, users with compatible RTX cards can access features like RTX Dynamic Vibrance and RTX HDR directly from the app. Moreover, the app allows users to easily download other Nvidia applications, including Nvidia Broadcast, Nvidia Omniverse, and GeForce Now.
More features coming
While the new app streamlines the process of managing the GPU, the Nvidia Control Panel will still be accessible, as certain options, such as Texture Filtering, are not yet part of the new Nvidia app. However, the company plans to include all features from the Nvidia Control Panel in this application, covering display and video settings. Moreover, it also intends to add features like GPU overclocking and driver roll-back with future updates.
It’s important to note that Nvidia has also decided to discontinue certain features such as Broadcasting to Twitch and YouTube, sharing images and videos to Facebook and YouTube, and Photo Mode 360 & Stereo capture.
How to download the app?
If you want to download the Nvidia app and participate in the beta, make sure you have a Nvidia graphics card capable of running GeForce Driver version 551.52 or later, released on February 21.
