Konami & Bloober Team Join Hands For “A Strategic Partnership”
One of the biggest names in the gaming industry, Konami announced its partnership with Bloober Team. At the same time, Konami is very well known for its acclaimed Metal Gear series, Castlevania, and PES series. Bloober Team has horror games like Blair Witch, Layers of Fear series, Observer, and The Medium under its umbrella.
The strategic partnership announced today adds weight to the rumors about the Polish studio working on a new Silent Hill game. “It is a historic day for me and the culmination of several years of our work,” said the press release by Bloober Team. The statement goes on, “It will include jointly developing selected contents and exchanging know-how.”
A New Silent Hill game?
Needless to say, Konami is also famed for Silent Hill. Moreover, Akira Yamaoka, the Japanese music composer; who is also one of the creators of Silent Hill, also did the score for The Medium.
Meanwhile, Konami’s press release says, “In the digital entertainment industry, significant changes in the business environment are expected in the future. We have decided to form a business alliance with Bloober Team to create high-quality content by combining our respective characteristics and strengths.”
However, Konami’s statement clarifies that the key elements of the partnership between two parties have not been finalized yet; – “We will announce information about contents from the business alliance once details are decided.” Although no specific details have been revealed, recent rumors have hinted towards a new Silent Hill game.
Interestingly, Bloober has previously announced that they’re working on a new horror IP in collaboration with a very famous publisher. Meanwhile, if this is not enough to convince anyone about a new Silent Hill game. Akira Yamaoka previously teased about the latest project announced this summer, calling it “one you’re kinda hoping to hear about.”
