Google Is Working On Customizable iOS Widgets, Starting With Google Search Widget
Lines of code from the Google Search app on iOS and iPad OS hints at customizable widgets. Steve Moser spotted the code and MacRumors reported the development.
Starting from Google Search, Google is now working on customizable iOS widgets. The code says that the new widget will let you “Choose a theme to add color, Google Earth imagery, and more to your Google widget.”
iOS Widgets By Google
Google Search widget is among the most popular iOS widgets at the moment. You also have widgets for Photos, Google Keep, and Chrome. The company may introduce customizable iOS widgets now.
Starting with Google Search, the iOS widget will let you add a theme, Google Earth imagery, or maybe an image from the Photos app. This could be an aesthetic update for the iOS widgets by Google.
Apple rolled out widgets with the iOS 14 rollout. Since then, the feature has been widely adopted by the apps. It also makes the iPhone home screen more customizable.
With these new customizable iOS widgets, users will get a chance to customize and add more colors or a different look to their iPhone home screens.
Android 12 is also paying a lot of attention to the widgets. So any sweet changes coming to iOS are likely to be there on Android phones too.
