Initially, Ubisoft planned to release the game on February 18, 2020; however, because of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the studio had to push back the release date.

Like most latest titles, Ubisoft’s Far Cry 6 will release for both last and current-gen consoles, i.e., Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, and PS5. Moreover, the FPS title will be available for PC and Google Stadia as well.

Far Cry 6 location & Setting
As suggested in the trailer, Far Cry 6’s events occur in the modern-world of Yara, a fictional island based on Cuba. Under the dictatorship of Anton Castillo, Yara is isolated from the rest of the world. The entire country of Yara is in a state of chaos as Castillo is using military force to suppress citizen’s voices standing up against his rule.
In that chaotic world, you play as Dani Rojas, who has to find a way to demolish Castillo’s dictatorship. The open-world of Far Cry 6 will present players will numerous dangerous challenges. So, you will have to survive the hurdles and make your way to the top to bring down Castillo, who is training his son Diego to follow in the same footsteps.
Far Cry 6 Villian
Anton Castillo, a ruthless dictator in the island nation of Yara, is the main Far Cry 6 villain. Interestingly, Giancarlo Esposito, the actor who played Gus Fring in the Breaking Bad TV series, plays Anton in Ubisoft’s upcoming game.
According to Esposito’s interview with IGN, he took inspiration from Winston Churchill for Anton’s portrayal. Anton feels that Yara is a place that sits on an incredible amount of resources, but the people of the island don’t know how to use all the assets. So, Anton has no choice but to rule with an iron fist and crush the ongoing revolution.
Far Cry 6 Story leaks
Officially, we know very little about Far Cry 6’s story. However, according to an “alleged” Far Cry 6 early tester, Dani(our character) will interact with Anton and Diego right after the first mission. According to the leakster, Anton will pressure Diego to kill Dani. Fortunately, Diego will be hesitant in killing Dani, allowing him to escape the situation. After that interaction, players can explore the open-world of Far Cry 6 as they wish.
Far Cry 6 Multiplayer: Is It Co-op?
Similar to previous Far Cry video games, Far Cry 6 will also feature a co-op feature. The co-op feature will allow up to four players to play together. However, the co-op play will be restricted to side quests. There’s no word from Ubisoft on introducing the cooperative play for the main campaign.
