MIUI 12 Global Stable Update Live For Redmi Note 7 Pro India Users
Two months after Xiaomi released the MIUI 12 globally, the update is, at last, coming to Redmi Note 7 Pro users in India.
The Redmi Note 7 series has always been one of the best-selling series from Xiaomi. At the Redmi Note 8 launch last year, Xiaomi India MD Manu Kumar said that the smartphone series sales had surpassed 20 million units. It makes sense that Xiaomi is issuing the MIUI 12 update to Redmi Note 7 Pro before other budget devices from the Chinese smartphone manufacturer.
So far, only the first batch of MIUI 12 supported devices has received MIUI 12 stable updates, including Mi 9 and Redmi K20/K20 Pro. Meanwhile, a few devices such as the Poco F2 Pro and Mi 10 are still undergoing the beta testing phase.

The Redmi Note 7 series was previously listed under the MIUI 12 Pilot program along with the Redmi Note 8 Pro and Poco F1. It goes without saying that the MIUI 12 update is a beta update and is only available to beta testers.

(Recovery ROM)
That being said, general users can still install the update via a custom recovery like TWRP. However, users will first need to unlock the bootloader of their Xiaomi device. We strongly recommend users to follow through with the process only if they have adequate knowledge of flashing ROMs in general.
If you didn’t partake in the MIUI 12 Pilot program, the best thing you can do is wait for the official OTA (Over-the-air) update. Now that MIUI 12 India Stable Beta has arrived, it won’t be long before the official update starts to roll in.
Since the Redmi Note 8 Pro has been receiving beta updates, the only device left under the beta program is Poco F1. However, we have observed that MIUI 12 updates for Poco devices are taking longer than expected.
