OnePlus Confirms 5 New OxygenOS Features From Users’ Suggestions
Recently, OnePlus launched a campaign dubbed IDEAS that invited suggestions from the OnePlus community and other users for improving OxygenOS. Today, the company has confirmed the five features it is bringing to OxygenOS by taking cues from the ideas suggested by the users.
In a blog post, OnePlus said that it received 5,000 brilliant ideas and 25k likes on the ideas. The results of the beta phase of the campaign have ended with OnePlus adopting the following new OxygenOS features.
5 New OxygenOS Features
1. Always on Display
OnePlus already confirmed earlier that it is bringing the Always On Display (AOD) as one of the features of OxygenOS after several users requested. This new OxygenOS feature will be available by Aug/Sep as per OnePlus.
2. Enable fingerprint lock for hidden pictures in the gallery
This new OxygenOS feature will offer an additional layer of security if someone tries to open a hidden picture in the gallery. The idea received 594 likes on the OnePlus community platform.
3. Play sound when the battery is fully charged
As of now, there is no way to know when your OnePlus device has fully charged unless you have enabled the notification LED, which turns green when the smartphone is 100% charged. Now, OnePlus is bringing a new feature that will play a sound when the battery is fully charged.
4. Folders within the app drawer
OnePlus will offer a feature in OxygenOS that will allow you to group apps in a folder within the app drawer. This will make it easier to access apps as you can group them according to their nature or as per your usage.

5. Adding more essential features to Zen Mode
Zen mode is one of the most appreciated OxygenOS features, and the company is planning to improve it further by adding more essential features to it. OnePlus could add tools like calculator, calendar, etc. to Zen Mode.
In addition to the above 5 confirmed OxygenOS features, OnePlus has also announced the ideas that won’t make it to its Android skin.

- Call recording
- Google message for the stock SMS/RCS app
- Study mode
- API support for Gcam
- Improve the adaptive brightness
- Custom fingerprint animations
- Real-time weather wallpaper
- Real One Hand Mode
- AMOLED dark
- Boost capabilities of the alert slider
- An option to set battery charging limit to 80%
- Variable charging speed
- Allow users to choose which stock apps to install during set-up
