Xiaomi’s MIUI 10 Global Bringing Dark Mode To System Apps
Xiaomi device owners won’t have to wait till MIUI 11 to enjoy a dark mode on system apps. The Chinese smartphone maker has confirmed this news in the latest MIUI 10 Global Beta ROM 9.2.14 changelog preview that was posted on a forum.
The complete changelog will be released today, but a report by Fonearena shows Dark mode theme in Xiaomi’s system apps such as Gallery, Messaging, Contacts, Calculator SIM card settings, App Lock, and Data Usage among others.
Besides the apps mentioned above, the dark theme will also cover the volume controls, notification shade, and the Recents window.
For now, it seems that the purported dark mode would be a partial and not system-wide one which Google is planning to introduce in Android Q.
The dark mode feature is currently being tested on MIUI 10 Global Beta ROM and could soon arrive on the stable version based on feedback from the beta testers.
Since Xiaomi is already working on MIUI 11 which is claimed to be “a new and unique OS,” if the dark theme does not make it to the stable builds of MIUI 10, we can surely get it as part of MIUI 11.
