Xiaomi MIUI 12 Will Include Dark Mode 2.0 And Wallpaper Dimming
Today, Xiaomi confirmed the release date of MIUI 12, that is, April 27. The Chinese tech giant will hold an online event, and the live streaming will commence at 11:30 AM IST.
Previously, an MIUI head designer confirmed that users could expect a more uniform UX in the upcoming MIUI 12. Now, Xiaomi has revealed another big MIUI 12 feature in a Weibo post.
MIUI 12 Best Features: Dark Mode 2.0
Xiaomi is going to bring Dark Mode 2.0 in the next major MIUI update. According to the smartphone manufacturer, it will not only make improvements to the current dark mode implementation but also introduce new changes.
Wallpaper Dimming
As the name suggests, MIUI 12’s wallpaper dimming will darken the current wallpaper to some degree. As we can see in the picture shared by MIUI, only some part of the wallpaper is darkened.

There is no information on whether this will be limited to default wallpaper or apply to third-party wallpapers as well.
Font Changes
MIUI 12’s Dark Mode will automatically adjust the weight of the text. In other words, one will notice reduced glair and text blur on the device’s font.
Apart from that, the Dark Mode 2.0 will reduce the font contract according to the brightness set by the user. This will drastically help in reading text when in dark mode.
Separately, a previous leak suggested a few changes to the MIUI 12 settings app, such as a new Refresh rate landing page and a revamped Screen Time settings.
