Xiaomi Could Bring 4 Curved Edge Display Smartphone

xiaomi patent

Over the years, Chinese company Xiaomi has become an arguably popular one in the mobile world with its well-featured devices at impressive prices. Taking this forward, the company could soon be adding new features to its future smartphones, as hinted by a new patent.

According to a new report by LetsGoDigital, Xiaomi has been granted a patent by the World Intellectual Property Office (WIPO) which suggests a smartphone with a curved display on all four edges.

The fully curved display could result in a complete edge-to-edge screen with really thin bezels. To recall, Samsung was the first to come out with a curved display smartphone, the Galaxy Note Edge. However, it did not have all the four sides of the display curved.

The image posted hints at either an under-the-display front camera or a pop-up one, or no selfie camera at all. Furthermore, it is suggested that the smartphone is likely to sport dual cameras at the back with LED flash and USB Type-C port at the bottom part of the smartphone.

If at all the patent turns out to be an actual product, the design is likely to result in an in-display fingerprint scanner as well.

However, other details regarding the alleged smartphone with a four-edged curved display are still not known.

As it is just a patent, we are not sure whether or not it launches into a real product. Therefore, we’d like you to take the aforementioned information with a pinch of salt.
