The Apple of China Xiaomi is expected to launch a new gaming smartphone on April 13 through their subsidiary Black Shark Technologies. Gizmochina dropped the details about the launch. The website shared an image of invitation for the launch event.

The Black Shark phone is expected to arrive with a Snapdragon 845 SoC. It could feature a 2160×1080 display with an 18:9 aspect ratio and up to 120GHz refresh rate.

The AnTuTu benchmark details of the gaming phone have already leaked in the past. Just like other smartphones these days, it will have three variants including 6GB RAM with 128GB storage, 8GB RAM with 128GB and 256GB storage options.

The report also suggests that Black Shark with have Android Oreo out-of-box and Project Trebble support for quicker updates in the future. Black Shark phone will have a pre-installed app called Shark Space, similar to iOS’s Game Center.

A Weibo user (via TechRadar) leaked the images of the phone. It goes without saying that Black Shark would face competition from existing gaming-ready smartphones, such as the Razer Phone released last year. There is no word on the pricing of the Black Shark phone, but it is known that the smartphone won’t have Xiaomi branding and may be produced in limited quantity.
