World’s Highest Capacity 512 GB microSD Card To Go On Sale This February
Now, the title of the world’s highest capacity microSD card belongs to Integral Memory’s new 512GB microSDXC V10 UHS-I U1 card. It is designed to increase the storage capacity of Android devices and tablets, as well as, other forms of consumer tech including action cameras, drones, DSLRs, etc.
Apparently, cloud-based services now address different needs such as file storage, data backup, streaming, etc. which has lessened the requirement of dedicated external storage on mobile devices. It doesn’t seem an average user would need that gigantic storage media on their device.
But there is one application that has become more space gobbling than before: camera and video recording. Smartphones nowadays can churn out 4K videos without any problem. Also, the card could be useful to the people who store massive games (a couple of GBs in size) on their smartphones.
The microSD card from the British company is capable of delivering a transfer speed of 80MB/s which sounds enough for devices recording 1080p and 4K videos out-of-the-box.
Integral memory’s 512GB microSD card will go on sale in February this year. The price tag for the storage media is currently unknown. But considering the fact that SanDisk’s 400GB microSD is selling at $250 on Amazon, the price of Integral Memory’s would be more than that.
