WhatsApp is constantly working on bringing new features and improvements to the app. The company is now working on a new interface for WhatsApp voice calls and is also planning to add wallpaper to the interface.

WABetainfo spotted this feature on the WhatsApp beta for iOS. The app will seemingly show the default chat wallpaper during regular WhatsApp voice calls. Even if you select a different wallpaper for the contact, WhatsApp always shows the default one.

This is part of WhatsApp’s new voice call interface that makes the UI look more compact and modern. The new design looks quite lovely, especially in group calls. Speaking of calls, WhatsApp has added the option to join calls after they start.

The feature is currently available on WhatsApp beta for iOS but will soon make its way to WhatsApp beta for Android. Unfortunately, there’s no news on when a global release for this feature will be as WhatsApp tends to take some time with development.
