Samsung Is Working On An Affordable Smart Speaker Powered By Bixby
Samsung announced a Bixby-powered smart speaker in August, but the company is yet to unveil it. A report by SamMobile has suggested that Samsung is working on another smart speaker that would be affordable and will have Bixby as the digital assistant.
This second cheaper device will be launched to compete with budget-friendly smart speakers already available in the market including Amazon Echo Dot and Google Home Mini.
The reports have revealed that the reported device by Samsung carries the model number SM-V310 whereas the Galaxy Home speaker that was announced in August has the model number SM-V510.
Specifications of the affordable smart speaker by Samsung are unknown yet but being a cheaper alternative; we can expect it to come with fewer features than Samsung announced for Galaxy Home speaker such as a subwoofer, six built-in-speakers, and eight microphones.
Since its announcement in August, we haven’t heard much from the South Korean smartphone manufacturing company about its Galaxy Home smart assistant.
However, with CES around the corner, Samsung could release the already announced smart speaker and the budget counter-part too.
With its launch, Samsung will plunge into an already crowded market of digital assistant equipped speakers populated by Amazon Echo Dot, Apple HomePod and Google Home.
