Despite the shared processor, the Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra stands out because of the massive display, 16GB top RAM, and 512GB internal storage. Add Samsung Dex to the mix, and the Tab S8 Ultra can be a laptop replacement for most users.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 series also packs quad stereo speakers with sound by AKG and Dolby Atmos support. Samsung has also maintained a landscape aspect ratio which means there will be thinner black bars when you’re watching a video.
On the environmental side of things, the Galaxy Tab S8 series is partially made of recycled plastics. This plastic comes from discarded fishing nets that would’ve otherwise ended up in the ocean. Also, there’s no charge in the box either.
Tab S8 Series Accessories
When you go after a segment, you better go at it with full force. It seems like Samsung took the challenge seriously and has delivered accessories to match its flagship Android tablets. The Tab S8 Ultra will get a new Ultra Book Cover Keyboard. It is a backlit keyboard that comes with a glass trackpad.
Galaxy Tab S8 Series Price And Availability
The Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 starts at $699 for the base model. All three models will be available for pre-order starting today. If you pre-order the Samsung Galaxy Tab S, you’ll get a keyboard case free.
Given the specifications, these are solid iPad alternatives. It packs 5G, massive batteries, and Samsung’s optimized user interface. Given the $699 base price and $1,099 top model, the tablets directly challenge the iPad Air as well as the iPad Pro.
However, the iPad comes with optimized apps and a massive app library to use the screen real-estate and the Apple Pencil. But Google has also been working on Android for bigger screens.
Samsung also announced that the company has been working with Google and more updates are on the way. In terms of experience, the Tab S8 already has features like Auto-framing, optimized Luma Fusion, and Samsung Dex.
Rich Miner, one of Android’s co-founders is now working on optimizing Android for tablets. Google has been actively recruiting more engineers to work on the same. So Samsung’s tablets can be the beginning of a bigger picture where Android tablets give iPads a run for their money.
