Qualcomm is all geared up to launch its next-gen processor, dubbed the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8150 processor at an event, for which the company has started sending out media invites.
The event, scheduled for December 4 will take place in Hawaii at the company’s annual tech summit.
The upcoming Snapdragon 8150 chipset will be the successor to last year’s Snapdragon 845 mobile platform. Additionally, it is being speculated that the device could be named as the Snapdragon 855 processor.
While nothing concrete is available, it is suggested that the new processor is likely to be based on the 7nm FinFET process technology and could support three-core architectural design, comprising one large core, three medium cores, and four small cores.
The Qualcomm Snapdragon 8150 is expected to see an increase in performance by 30 percent, in comparison to its predecessor — Snapdragon 845 SoC.
Additionally, the new processor is expected to support 5G and could make its entry with Samsung’s forthcoming flagship, dubbed the Galaxy S10.
However, the aforementioned can’t be deemed as a fact, and we expect you to take it with a grain of salt. For further information, we need to wait until the December 4 launch event.
