PS5 Set To Release On November 12 For $499, PS5 Digital Edition For $399
Sony’s next-generation gaming console, PlayStation 5, will launch on November 12, 2020. Today, Sony announced in a live stream that PS5 would cost $499, whereas the PS5 Digital Edition will cost $399.
PS5 will first launch in the US, Mexico, Canada, South Korea, Japan, Australia, and New Zealand. For the rest of the world, it will arrive on November 19. However, Sony is yet to announce the launch date and price of PS5 for India.
Sony’s PS5 and PS5 Digital Edition will be competing against Microsoft’s Xbox Series S | X. Even though Xbox Series X is a flagship console, it is priced at $499, whereas Xbox Series S is priced at $299.
Sony has also introduced the “PlayStation Plus Collection” for PS5, which is somewhat similar to Xbox Game Pass. It’s a part of the PS Plus subscription service and will allow the users to play a bunch of PS4 games on their PS5 console.
Both the first-party classic titles like Bloodborne, God of War, Uncharted 4, and third-party titles like Fallout 4, Mortal Kombat X, and more will be available with the PlayStation Plus Collection.
