HMD Global’s Nokia has a good reputation for delivering timely software updates since Android 8.0. Nokia phones are based on Google’s own Android One program. The program makes it easier for the manufacturer to push updates as they arrive directly from Google. In this article, let’s look at the list of Nokia devices getting the Android 12 update.

Google recently released the third beta update for the Pixel series and other supported devices. With this, the OS inches closer to attaining platform stability. The Android 12 Beta 4 is scheduled for this month, followed by the first release candidate update and the stable update.

Nokia Android 12 Update Supported Devices

  • Nokia 1.3
  • Nokia 2.4
  • Nokia 3.4
  • Nokia 5.3
  • Nokia 5.4
  • Nokia 8.3 5G
  • Nokia C1 Plus
  • Nokia C20 Plus
  • Nokia G10
  • Nokia G20
  • Nokia X10
  • Nokia X20
  • Nokia XR20

Due to the two-year update policy of Android One, a lot of Nokia phones, some of the most expensive Nokia flagships like the Nokia 8 Sirocco, Nokia 9 PureView, and a lot of upper mid-range Nokias launched with Android 9.0 will not be getting the Android 12 update. For those who don’t know, Android One is a series of smartphones promoted by Google with guaranteed two major OS upgrades.

With companies like Samsung and OnePlus offering over three or even four years of major updates and patches, this raises the question that if HMD Global should ditch Android One and follow its own update path for its devices. Google is also raising the bar with its upcoming Pixel 6 and 6 Pro with five years of major updates.
