It often happens that we pause the movie we are watching to replay a scene that we liked. It seems like Netflix is granting wishes this festive season.

As reported by The Los Angeles Times, Netflix is testing a feature that would allow you to instantly replay a scene with just a click, thus saving you the trouble to pause and rewind. The feature is already in the testing phase and is available as a popup on certain scenes on the content.

The digital video streaming company has confirmed to the LA Times that it is working on the instant replay feature, but there is no confirmation whether the feature would be rolled out permanently or not.

According to a Netflix spokesperson, “We’re trying out a feature which gives Netflix members the ability to rewatch favorite scenes and memorable moments with the click of a button. Right now we’re just looking to learn from it and may or may not roll it out more broadly in the future.”

It would be good for rewatching an intense fighting scene or a witty one-liner that you failed to grasp in the first attempt.

A user who got the feature on Netflix’s original movie “Dumplin” said that the instant replay feature is “devaluing film.” Other Netflix viewers have also criticized the feature. Many found it disruptive and intrusive for impacting the viewing experience.
