Maruti Suzuki Baleno And Hyundai Creta Build Quality Tested In This Accident
Recently, a Hyundai Creta crashed into the rear end of a Maruti Suzuki Baleno. Both cars are amongst the best selling vehicles on the market and therefore news of their crash has garnered attention over the internet. The severity of the accident was not high, and nobody was harmed. However, one of the two cars suffered some considerable damage due to the crash.
The incident was recorded through a dashcam installed in the Hyundai Creta. Additionally, YouTuber and automotive enthusiast Nikhil Rana uploaded a video to his channel explaining more about the incident.
So, let’s move ahead and find out in detail about the incident.

Maruti Suzuki Baleno And Hyundai Creta Accident
Though we have a very short video about the incident, it’s quite sufficient to understand the scenario. In the video uploaded by Nikhil, we can see Hyundai Creta smashing into Maruti Baleno from behind. It happened when the driver of Baleno slowed down his car to take a right turn. Meanwhile, the driver of Creta who was following Suzuki Baleno could not apply brakes on time and ended up hitting the hatchback.
It seems that the Hyundai Creta driver was not attentive as there was both, a safe distance as well as the time to apply brakes to avoid this accident comfortably. Furthermore, you can see that the right indicator of Baleno was flashing. This confirms that the driver of the Hyundai Creta was absent-minded during this whole incident and realized it when the crash became inevitable.
Despite the late response of the driver, the speed of Hyundai Creta was quite low when it banged into Maruti Suzuki Baleno. Still, the rear body of the premium hatchback was unable to deflect this impact. The rear windshield of the car was shattered. In addition, the rear tailgate and rear bumper compressed inside due to the impact.
On the other hand, Hyundai Creta looks completely untouched. There is not even a scratch on the front side of Creta.
It’s a fact that the bodies of cars are made to absorb the impact during collisions and for that reason, the bumpers of cars break to release energy. However, it seems that the body of Baleno is made of very light material considering the slow speed of the collision. This incident again questions the built quality of Maruti Suzuki cars. The company does not have a very good reputation regarding the built quality of its cars.
Safety Rating of Baleno And Creta
Maruti Suzuki Baleno has a three-star safety rating in the Euro NCAP crash. On the other hand, Hyundai Creta holds a four-star rating in Latin NCAP tests. Maruti Baleno is one of the best selling hatchbacks in India, and the automaker does not have any scarcity of its fans. At the same time, Maruti is criticized for not providing up to the mark-built quality of its cars.
If these kinds of incidents keep happening with Maruti cars then it’s only going to deteriorate the reputation of the automaker. As more people are prioritizing safety over fuel-efficiency nowadays. We hope Maruti will improve the built quality of its vehicles.
Do you guys think Maruti Suzuki will improve the built quality of its cars in future or will it remain the same?
