It’s no secret that iQOO has experienced a remarkable resurgence in recent years, transforming from a shadow brand of Vivo into a full-fledged competitor. After successfully launching the flagship iQOO 12 Pro and the mid-range iQOO Neo 9 Pro, the company is now turning its attention to the budget segment with the upcoming iQOO Z9 5G. When will the iQOO Z9 5G launch?
According to the latest reports, the company will launch the Z9 5G on March 12th in India.
iQOO Z9 5G: Design and Display
Tailored for the budget market, the Z9 5G will feature a standard glass back panel with a dual camera setup positioned on the top left-hand side. The device will be available in green, blue, white, and black colorways.
Moving to the front, the phone will house a center selfie punch-hole camera and a 6.6-inch FHD+ AMOLED 120Hz display with a peak brightness of 1800 nits. Note that the name of the glass protection is unclear at the time of writing.
Specifications
As per the Amazon listing, the iQOO Z9 5G will be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7200 chipset, boasting two Cortex-A715 high-performance cores running at 2800 MHz and six efficiency Cortex-A51 cores running at 2000 MHz, along with the Mali-G610 GPU. A leaked Geekbench test suggests impressive scores of 1186 in the single-core test and 2683 in the multi-core test. Additionally, the device will come with at least 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage.
Cameras
iQOO’s journey in the camera department has seen significant improvement over the years, and the Z9 5G is no exception. It will house a 50MP Sony IMX 882 main camera sensor with OIS support alongside a 2MP depth sensor. For selfies, expect a 16MP shooter with support for 1080p video recording.
Software
Out of the box, the iQOO Z9 5G will run on FunTouch OS 14, layered on top of Android 14. The device is promised to receive at least two years of Android updates and three years of security patches.
Battery and Charging
Rumors indicate that the Z9 5G will feature a substantial 5000mAh battery, with support for 44W fast charging.
