HP Launches Omen 16 Slim Gaming Laptop: Specs & Features

At its Amplify 2025 event, HP announced a new addition to its Omen gaming laptop family, the Omen 16 Slim. This laptop balances performance and mobility and thus is an interesting option for gamers to provide decent performance and be more portable and lightweight. Design and Display
As the name suggests, the Omen 16 Slim is thinner than other Omen laptops. At its thinnest, it is 0.79 inches thick and weighs around 5.4 pounds. The laptop features a 16-inch 240Hz IPS display with a 2560 x 1600 pixel resolution and a response time of 3ms.
Performance and Hardware
The Omen 16 Slim features Intel’s newest Arrow Lake processors. The base model has a Core Ultra 5 225H processor, 16GB of DDR5 RAM running 5600 MT/s, and 512GB of storage. The highest variant has a Core Ultra 9 285H, 32GB of DDR5 RAM, and 1TB of storage.
In terms of GPU, you can configure up to the Nvidia GeForce RTX 5070, which is the entry-level option in the newest 50 series graphics cards.
The Omen 16 Slim also comes with Wi-Fi 6E, a 3.5mm headphone/mic combo jack, and Bluetooth 5.4. Plus, it has a 70Wh battery, a 1080p webcam, and dual speakers.
New Omen Transcend 14
In addition to the Omen 16 Slim, HP also refreshed its Omen Transcend 14 gaming laptop. Similar to the Omen 16 Slim, it has the same Intel Core Ultra 9 285H processor and Nvidia RTX 5070 GPU but in a smaller and lighter package.
Transcend 14 has a 14-inch OLED high-definition screen (2880 x 1800) and a 71Wh battery for improved portability. It also has Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4 for decent connectivity and a 1080p webcam for improved video calls.
