Google Pixel 4a Coming To India, But Not Before October
Google has finally revealed the Pixel 4a after months of rumors and leaks. The mid-ranger from Google comes with a Snapdragon 730G and a 5.81-inch punch-hole display.
Google’s Pixel lineup is extremely popular globally, and in India, one of the biggest smartphone markets. Unfortunately, the company wasn’t able to bring the Google Pixel 4 to India due to the frequencies used by the device for the embedded Soli-chip, that aren’t allowed to be used by companies.
Thankfully, that’s not the case with Google Pixel 4a. The company has confirmed that the device will be reaching India, however, not before October.
Nanda Ramachandran, Google Mobile Business senior director, credited disruptions to the supply chain because of Coronavirus as the reason for not bringing the Pixel 4a to India early. On the bright side, Google is making sure the device hits Indian stores before Diwali, he said.
E-commerce stores in India generally come up with lucrative deals in the month of the festival, so Pixel fans in India may get discounts on the device.
Google Pixel 4a specifications
The newly launched Pixel device features a 5.81-inch OLED display with a resolution of 1080 x 2340px. It’s a single punch-hole display where the little hole in the top left corner carries an 8MP camera for selfies.
The back has a square-shaped camera setup holding a single 12.2MP lens. There is also a fingerprint scanner on the rear. Apart from this, we have 3,140 mAh of battery capacity, a standard 18W charging, and 6GB of RAM paired with 128GB of storage.
Thankfully, the Pixel 4a comes with a headphone jack, which is always a delight to see. There is just one color called “Just Black,” so it may disappoint a few users. There is also a Pixel 4a 5G variant, but Google has confirmed that it won’t be coming to India.
The Google Pixel 4a is priced at $349 in the US, which is roughly 26,254 rupees. This makes it the perfect competitor for OnePlus Nord which is priced at Rs. 24,999.
