Finally, a Robot Vacuum with a Little Style and Elegance

There are many reasons not to invest in a robot vacuum cleaning system, but surprisingly, for many consumers, aesthetic concerns rank surprisingly high. Who wants a mostly plastic-looking docking station placed prominently in the middle of the living room? There’s no way to stash the system away in a cupboard or closet as it needs easy access to the entire floor and usually ends up being installed in the hallway, living room, or kitchen, i.e., in full sight. The good news is that the robovac brand YEEDI has listened to our pleas and designed a cleaning system with a little more style than most.

I know it may sound a little odd. An aesthetically pleasing robot vacuum? But in almost all other aspects of our lives, product design is an important factor. People don’t buy ugly kitchen appliances or other household devices. As humans, we demand designs that go beyond simple practical factors. Why should a robot vacuum be any different?

With the latest flagship M14 PLUS system, YEEDI has worked hard to create a robovac with a sense of style and finesse. The robot itself uses a familiar circular design, but with a subtly curved shell that looks a little classier than the purely functional designs we are used to seeing. While every robovac you’ve ever seen uses plastic, the M14 PLUS uses a textured plastic shell that looks and feels slightly more refined than the glossy, cheap plastic finish we are used to seeing.

The docking station has also had a makeover of sorts. Using the same textured plastic as the robot, the station features curved edges and a concave top section with removable curved lids that discreetly hide the water chambers within. The entire unit is also smaller than most, making it as unobtrusive as possible. Both the robot and the station use a minimalist white color scheme, which is neutral enough to blend in with most modern home decor.

YEEDI has also done its homework to make sure the M14 PLUS is one of the most capable and reliable cleaning systems available today. For me, the highlight surely is its claim to offer superior mopping ability, a claim that few robovacs live up to, but one which YEEDI steadfastly backs.

It’s all about the new OZMO Roller, a new kind of mopping technology that differs from traditional mopping systems that tend to use flat pad mop designs. Removing tough stains requires substantial pressure on the floor, which is exactly what YEEDI claims to have achieved. The robot’s small roller mop is pushed down against the floor with enough pressure to remove the most stubborn of stains. To keep the roller clean and effective, it is first passed through a scraper to remove dirt and then cleansed with water nozzles that spray fresh water at the mop. It might sound a little complex, but if it keeps my floor sparklingly clean, I’m all in.

The YEEDI M14 PLUS also has several other features you would expect from a flagship automatic cleaning system. Advanced floor navigation, a self-cleaning routine to minimize maintenance needs, plus high-powered vacuum suction capability ensure the system can quietly and effectively do its job without troubling you. The vacuum also uses brushes designed to deal with pet hair better than most systems and claims to be able to reach the edges of floors to give rooms full coverage. Most notably, of course, is the idea that it does its job without looking out of place in your home.
